Install Blender 2.70 On Ubuntu / LinuxMint / ElementaryOS

Blender is an Free and open source application for 3D  Computer graphics software product used mainly for creating animated films,Visual effects,art,3D Printing Models,Video games and many more.


Blender contains the following features sculpting,3D Modeling,animation,camera tracking, Rendering, Video editing,compositing and many more..It is available for multiple operating systems (ie) Windows,Linux and MacOSX.

In this tutorial I will show you how to install BLENDER 2.70 on Ubuntu 13.10/ 12.10/12.04 LTS,LinuxMint 15 / 14 & ElementaryOS

The latest version of Blender is 2.70 released on March 19th 2014 and now it is available in PPA,so installation procedure is very easy

Installation steps

Step 1: Add the Official PPA Provided by Blender Team
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:irie/blender
Step 2:Update the Repository
sudo apt-get update
Step 3: Install Blender 2.70
sudo apt-get install blender
