Install Firefox 28.0 On Ubuntu / LinuxMint / CentOS / OpenSUSE

Firefox a most commonly used browsers by everyone and one of the standard browsers too.It is an opensource browser and it is developed by mozilla corporation and mozilla Foundation.

It is available for Multiple Operating systems ie Windows,Linux,Mac OSX.Firefox browsers are commonly used for security reasons.

Firefox Released its new stable Version 28 on 15th March 2014

In this Tutorial I will show you how to install the Firefox 28.0 on Ubuntu 14.04/13.10 / 13.04 / LinuxMint 15 / Fedora 20 / 19 / CentOS 6.X / OpenMandriva & OpenSUSE

Installation Steps
Method 1
Best and Easy way to upgrade firefox is to update the Repository and upgrade it..
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt0-get upgrade
Method  2
Step 1:Download The Latest Version of Firefox 28 from their FTP SITE
For Downloading from FTP Click HERE

 (Or) 

Use wget
For 32 bit systems

wget ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/28.0/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-28.0.tar.bz2
For 64 bit systems
wget ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/28.0/linux-x86_64/en-US/firefox-28.0.tar.bz2
Step 2: Extract the tar package
tar -xjf firefox-28.0.tar.bz2
Step 3: Move the Firefox Folder to opt
Remove the Older version of firefox if it's there

sudo rm -rf  /opt/firefox
sudo mv firefox /opt/firefox28
Step 4: Create Symbolic Link For New Firefox
sudo ln -s /opt/firefox28/firefox /usr/bin/firefox
