Install / Uninstall CherryTree Editor On Ubuntu / LinuxMint / Debian

In this tutorial i will show you how to install the latest version of cherrytree editor in Ubuntu 14.04 and newer versions / linuxmint 17 / 16 and debian

CherryTree is an open source and multi-platform application designed under the GNU/Linux platform. It is also compatible with the Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Installation steps

Cherrytree editor can be installed via 2 methods
  1. Via PPA
  2. Via deb file

Method 1 : Via PPA

Step 1: Add the official PPA
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:giuspen/ppa
Step 2: Update the repos
sudo apt-get update
Step 3: Install the cherrytree 0.36.5
sudo apt-get install cherrytree

Method 2: via deb file

Step 1: Download the deb file using wget
Step 2 : Install using gdebi
gdebi cherrytree_0.36.5-1_all.deb

Uninstallation steps

For uninstallation run the below commands
sudo apt-get remove cherrytree
