How to Install Cinnamon 3.4 in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS / 17.04

Cinnamon 3.4 released today officially and in this tutorial, I will show you how to install on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS / 17.04

Installation can be done via an unofficial PPA, and PPA supported versions are 16.04 LTS and 17.04 versions.

  • Support for mozjs38 (CJS 3.4 uses mozjs38, CJS 3.2 uses mozjs24, Cinnamon 3.4 is compatible with either CJS 3.4 or CJS 3.2)

Installation Steps for Cinnamon 3.4 in Ubuntu

Step 1: Add the Unofficial PPA
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:embrosyn/cinnamon
Step 2: Update the repository
sudo apt-get update
Step 3: Install the cinnamon 3.4
sudo apt-get install cinnamon
